In The Garden, The Devil

A Novel by: T. Christopher

“Down in the depths of Hell, gigantic waves of sulfurous liquid fire swept from one end of the horizon to the other like violent seas in a tempest. Souls of the damned screamed out woeful, agonized choruses as they churned beneath the tumultuous swell. Those spirits, desperate and foolish enough to seek refuge on the surface, suffered indiscriminate savagery from merciless, flying demons. It was a realm of utter violence, torture, and pitiless judgement, as horrifying as any nightmare ever conjured.
In the center of the burning ocean, sitting on an archipelago of impenetrable bedrock jutting hundreds of feet skyward, sat Lucifer’s ominous grand palace. The castle, with its menacing, obtruding spires, stood like a forgotten, empty shell against the backdrop of a blood-red sky. Inside, shadow and neglect had overtaken its large rooms and vaulted ceilings. Fires that once illuminated the interior had long ago extinguished themselves. The bestial orgies and necrophilia mocking the sacred union of marriage had ceased. Gone, too, were the infamous necrotic feasts and blasphemous liturgies profaning the sacrament. It seemed the good ‘ole days of Hell were gone, replaced by this mundane variant.
However, the foreboding castle was not devoid of life. Its rightful owner and occupant, Lucifer, roamed through the unsettling darkness in its unhallowed halls with a slow, deliberate gait.”
